Lisa Kreuziger
Earlier Works
This website mainly features works and projects of the last decade. However, the artist's work goes back to the last millennium.
In her early years, Kreuziger saw herself as an abstract expressionist artist. Profoundly influenced and inspired by the ideas of the New York School of Art, she created a diverse body of work over several decades.
With the emphasis on dynamic gesture and flow, her paintings were completely non-objective. Spontaneity and immediacy of expression were key to her work. Each piece stood for itself. The use of color was experimental and not limited to a certain palette. Rather than being thought through in advance and done with deliberate intention, a painting developed as an intuitive process.
The small selection of works on canvas set up below might give an idea of her earlier artistic approach to painting.
Aside from painting on canvas, Kreuziger created dozens of works on paper and over 20 sketchbooks.
